YOCVA volunteers are an important support team which builds the "stage" upon which our young musicians perform. Parents and community members alike provide their time and talent to build a platform for success. There are many paths for a YOCVA Volunteer.
Concert and Event Volunteers
YOCVA needs dozens of volunteers to help with dress rehearsals and concerts. Please consider helping out in this way. The typical time commitment is only a few hours and the benefits are great; hearing our amazing orchestras perform and seeing first hand how inspiring our young musicians are!
YOCVA began a formal Parent Guild in 2013 and in 2014 Parent Guild participation increased over 100%. In 2015, the role Parent Guild Coordinator was recognized as a critical position on the Board of Directors. Parents through their support of the Parent Guild will foster an increase in student participation, community recognition and marketing, awareness of financial needs, and communication of needs in the parent and musician community.
Community Awareness and Fund Development
YOCVA works to strengthen partnerships with local organizations and businesses. This includes performances and attendance at local events to raise awareness of the organization and showcase our performers, as well as fund-raising and donor development. From ad sales to event promotion we welcome support and involvement.
The YOCVA Board of Directors is an active, working board. Each Director has a specific, unique connection to the community as well as a unique talent or experience. The Board’s efforts are essential to the success of the organization.
